If you have been keeping up with my posts, I recently went to a dealership to get my fan module recall fixed and also get my catalytic converters looked at. Today coming home from work my engine started puttering, and yet AGAIN the rotten egg smell came back, so I pop my hood and low and behold the cats are FU**ED. I instantly stopped my car and pushed it to my house(I love in the adirondack mountains). The dealership two days ago said there was nothing wrong ROFLCOPTER ON THEM.

take it back, i dont think you are under warranty, but if they told you there is nuthin wrong with the cats then two days later they go. then i think you may have a case. idk tho. its a grey area

EDIT: i wouldnt drive it until:

A: you install headers
B: replace or gut the stock ones.

With headers, what exactly do they do and why do you get them?

EDIT: Also Great, EPA says that 8years or 80,000 miles the car manufacturer has to replaced them if they are damage.

J, emissions warranty is longer than drivetrain.

Missspeld: The BEST thing for you to do is have the car towed to Mazda and tell them that you want new cats before they even talk to you again and that nobody is to drive the car without first guaranteeing you that no damage will be done to the engine in the process.

Basically I am going all out on this one, I will take anyone down who interferes with my car. I just ran my car for a diagnostics test again and the cat didn't come up, but it came up before so I am not to worried about it. I am going to get it towed to the dealership and do what you said E.

Does gutting the pre cats make the engine louder ? Do headers eliminate the pre cats ?

What could you see from poping the hood?

Firstly, nasty smell. Second, checked my fuel injectors, checked my exhaust manifold, checked my air box, checked over the engine for any kind of water, checked over my air filter for wetness, checked over my oil, checked over my coolants, Catayltyic was very hot, considering my car was only on for about 5minutes and it was -1 last night, I didn't have time to pop it off but just for some reason my 6th mechanic sense was going off and I just knew it was gone, I was knocking on it with my knuckle and it normally its a nice ping but this time it was denser.

** UPDATE ** - Mazda will be covering all of my Catalytic converter replacements + my recalls which would be computer recall + fan module recall. Just a few sentences of BBB + EPA here we go.

Well if this new place finds damage they are going to personally see that everything that has been damaged is replaced, the owner of the dealership said he would replace everything from the engine to the exhaust.

the EPA is a scary bunch. one of those groups that come in, lock your doors, and throw away the keys when ever they get the itch.
