ok for the past week or so its gotten colder outside and my car has started doing something its never done before. It was getting popping out the back of the exhaust and i thought maybe i have an exhaust leak somewhere because that can cause popping. But whenever the popping did occur the car would stop accelerating for that split second.

Well this morning it was about 50 55 degrees while i was driving to work it wouldnt happen all the time but it would cut out for like half a second at a time as if i was never pressing the throttle but i was... which really scared me lol. Now durring the summer idid the throttle body bypass mod but it was like 90+ degrees outside and its been fine. Now i havent changed any mods mind you. Do you think that because its getting colder out the TB bypass mod is affecting the throttle body like that? Its like when the people take the fog light thing out of their front bumper to get more direct air to their intake but i never did that so i dunno.

One time at a light tho i hit the gas to go the car didnt move it stuttered and then the cel went on and then 1 second later the cel went off and the car started moving again... Sooooo yeah there was nothing i could do to show the dealer about the cel i scanned it and there was no record of even having the cel on their which was wierd... So im pretty sure it could possibly be my throttle body. or maybe the cooland bypass affecting something. Im going to undo the coolant bypass when i get home from work today and check it out. Im gonna do it reguardless if im to take it to the dealer or else they would be like wtf lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

hmmm bad gas? u really think that could be it? i filled up not too long ago also so that is a possibility come to think of it it may of started shortly after i filled up. I undid the bypass just incase i needed to swing by the dealer. I also soldered my cp-e mafci but that was a no go. It doesnt happen if i real easy on the gas. If i drive like a granny its fine. if i start hitting the gas a bit more is when it will start cutting out. Its been doing it every day sqanerd i could replicate it NO PROBLEM each time i try it. rite now im at half a tank u think i should go through the gas and fill up and see if it still does it?

edit: yeah you know what dude? i went to go pick up tires for my dad at a shop here and i remember having just under a quarter of a tank.. well when i get back my light goes on for gas and i remember that nite going out and then goin to get gas. Well the next morning coming back from work is when i started getting the problems. It would make sense it wouldnt happen rite away cuz there was still SOME gas left. so i drove home then drove to work and then it started happening. Hopefully this is the problem.

yeah im gonna empty out the tank and put like 20 bux worth in and see if it still does it.

Alrite well i took my car to the dealer they said that since i have no cats and stuff the car us running extremely rich and the computer is all fudged so its not runnin rite.. They told me i need to put my cats back on. Now ive been catless for months now and now i get this problem? i knew the car was running rich but it comes like that stock anyway? At this point im pretty much effed in the A lol.

yeah im gonna redo the o2 sensors since the shop who did mine are morons and they used 16 gauge wire instead of 20 and they arent soldered they just twisted it up and wrapped it in electrical tape and its done that several times it was just a horrendous job.

Ok well turns out it wasnt the o2 sensors. My car is at 32k miles and i figured id try changing the spark plugs. Well i did so and it got rid of 98% of it. I can still get it to pop a little bit if im in 5th gear going fairly slow and i hit the gas just enough to make it not downshift and it will start popping so i dont know how to go about looking for what the cause to that is..

Ok after i put in the bottle of fuel injector cleaner it doesnt seem to be popping at all anymore CArs been running great. So it probaly was bad gas which screwed up the plugs and may of clogged in the injectors...

Alright awesome so the popping is back lol and the car is running like crap again only this time i can hit the gas more than 20 percent throttle and it will rev up without popping lol. it mostly happens at low rpms now. my mafci box is soldered i heard that there are 2 diagnostic leds inside the box and they shouldnt be flashing? well 1 of them is. So i took the box off and ran straight up intake and the car ran exactly the same didnt really notice any power loss so either my box is bad or i dunno cuz i tripple checked the connections and they are all connected fine.. at this point not sure what to do i have no catalytic convertors and the dealer wont look at my car without them. Im trying my best to get them put back on but i have to wait on cp-e to send me the catted y pipe from kooks dunno how long thats gonna take. any suggestions?

I only tried it without the box. I dont see how putting the stock airbox back on would tell me if the box is bad. slv6s could you do me a favor and open up ur mafci box and turn your key to on but dont start the car and tell me if any of ur 2 leds are blinking.. The thing that is puzzling me is that i ran like this for 4 months without a problems i didnt touch or change anything then all of a sudden one day the car shat itself

im pretty sure the seal on the maf is fine. ill double chk tho when i get home.

thats ok i spoke to josh and he said one is supposed to be solid and the other is supposed to blink. So its all good.
