I have a 06 RL with SH-AWD as well as a Mazdaspeed 6, the RL system is definitely more sophisticated. The RL handles pretty well in the wet with its ability to vary the rotation of the wheels side to side. Seems to make the car feel more planted but the car isn’t really meant to be a sports sedan. I haven’t really driven the M6 in anything but rain but it seems that the stock tires are not amazing in the rain. I’ve had or have other cars with 4wd and the Acura seems to be quickest at reacting to slip as it seems to be adjusting a lot but you don’t really feel or notice it.
