I dont have a lot of experience with bay area body shops, but my insurance recommended Los Gatos Acura (believe it or not) when this happened back in '04. I was happy with the work they did. However, this was basically a case of replacing parts, and not actual body repair.

Not sure what it was, was driving in to work @ about 5:30am so I never saw it. Made such a loud noise I thought I ran something over. Looked under the car when I got to work, and then saw the hood. I figure I was lucky, since whatever it was punched a hole in the hood. A few inches higher and it might have come thru the windshield.

That same thing happened to me on I-95 in Florida. I saw what it was though. It was like slow motion. A hammer came out of this pickup truck in front of me and bounced once on the road and then the hood, the winndshield, and over the top of the car. It was bad news. I was on the phone with my mother at the time and said "oh shit" and dropped the phone. She thought I was dead. Had that hit the windshield a little lower and I might have been.

btw = blennidae? The latin word for the blenny species of reef dwelling fish?

What city are you in/near?
Are you looking for restore to factory level finish or custom type work?

I have some great recommendations in the Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore area if you are looking for a factory level type work.

Well, I'm willing to travel if they're really good, but I'm in San Bruno.

Custom type work, I want to replace the stock spoiler with something a bit more sporty.
