well i guess i'll throw in my 2 cents =P

I'm running an old school kicker sub (pushed by old Lanzar Opti-drive amp). Its just a single 10 but it hits pretty well for what im using it for. It definetly fills in the low end that the BOSE system isn't doing... but i also have a dual 10 JL box sitting in my basement. Honestly i bought it just cuz of its name. Sure they sound great and hit really well but like i said for what im using my subs for, the single kicker does the same job and saves me much more needed truck space.... dont get me wrong i know the dual 10s will prob push harder but i just don't "BUMP" like i use to back in my day. The music is just for me now. And i dont want the 4 year old to be a 'bass head' just yet ;)

I want to agree to disagree, but Mike, you still didn't post what you had, I just want to see what other people have other than JL.[/b]

I am still planning my first Two-Way Active front stage as well as trying to find the perfect sub stage for my personal tastes. I personally like crisp, clean Highs and deep throat closing Bass. Trying to get the two in one install is no easy task. You mix my budget into that and it gets a bit harder. My front stage is mostly decided upon, however the sub stage is up in the air as I want to slap an 18" sub or two in the trunk so I am sure that the required output (for me) is there.

I however should explain a little bit of my background to you.......

For the past three years I have had the opportunity to work in a local shop. This opportunity has allowed me to hear a bunch of different things. From vans that burp 160+db to daily street beating trucks to SQ competitors cars. I have listened to and installed speakers and amps ranging from Pyramid all the way up to companies like JL and Kicker. I have also dealt with speakers and amps from several DIY companies such as Fi, Stereo Integrity, Sundown Audio, T3 Audio, Incriminator Audio, Sound Splinter and Dayton. While I have not "owned" as many brands as some others, I have more experience with a wider array of products than most people.

That is the single most ignorant thing ive ever heard a JL Fan boy say!

I bet you have broken alot of windows in your car or past cars havent you......[/b]
 oh man that is to funny hahaha, but i do agree with you. ive owned both products and jl audio cant touch treo with a 10 ft poll when it comes to sound quality. imo jl audio has a "dirty" bass sound. to me they sound almost like the cone is flexing way to much and causing a vibration. even my audiobahn's i had for a little while hit just as hard and sounded way cleaner then the jl's i had and i payed a 1/3rd or the price for the audiobahn's.
