I'm planning on getting this http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00...ce-20/ref=nosim
and installing it at circuit city. Will i need to get anything else for the system? like a bypass or something? Or is everything inside the package? I'm wondering becuase i was reading reviews on this product and someone mentioned they had to purchase some seperate stuff to work with their car and was worried i'd have to do the same. Thanks.

you will need a bipass module for the remote strat feature and a key. You will have to donate your key so they can take the chip out for the remote start. ITs like a fifty dollar part and you lose a key

Technically you don't loose your key because your chip will be installed in a way that it defeats your factory immoblizer?? Meaning it will start with just the key(chip not needed)?
But I'm pretty sure everything you need would be there....If not, circuit city install bays will have it!!

same system I have... Only thing extra that does not come in the kit is the Bypass modular. Mines was an extra $50. Good luck getting circuit city to install it since you didn't buy it from them though..... and kiss the warrenty good buy on the system that DEI offers.

how hard is it to get them to install it? on their website they show all things they can install and i'm assuming i just walk up to circuit city and ask them to install it? http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDeta..._-see%20details Also how is the warranty voided from DEI? I'm looking on their website but can't find the warranty conditions :(.

So, i'm going to have to get the bypass module, and a new key? How much does mazda charge to cut keys? I found a link to another thread where it gives instructions to program the key so i'm assuming all i need is to get mazda to cut a key for me? This is the bypass module right? http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Directed-Un...roductDetail.do

And finally, I found this python on circuit city http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Python-2-Wa...roductDetail.do on circuit city. $340 for those of you who didn't click the check actual price thing. Pretty good in my opinion because if i was to get a viper 791xv it would be $200 for the system, $160 for the install totalling at $360. But the only problem is their out of stock :( and if i buy it online i'm sure there wil be some confusion on where to get it installed and if they would install it for me. Also I was wondering, isn' the python and the viper the exact same system, just different names? How about clifford?

Thanks for the help so far guys :).

If you buy the DEI system from a non authorized dealer. Then they will not back up the warrenty (i'd have to go look at it but I think it' ssomething like. If your car is succesfully broke in to while equiped and alarmed with their system. they will give you $7,000.00, plus everything is backed up if something malfunctions). and more then likely Circuit City will only want to do the install if the kit is actaully purchased from them as well. If they DID do it.. adn it's a big IF.... they'd probably charge out the ass in the tune of around $400 or so for the install...

I would stick with buying the system at the same place you plan on having it installed.

If you clicked on the first link on my last post, the install will only cost $160. But i'll take your word for it. Where can i find an authorized dealer? Do i use this retailer thing? http://www.directed.com/contact/locator.asp and type in my zip and go to one of the places and buy and install? And would that be considered authorized dealer?

ok. do you plan on buying this system from cicuit city as well? or do you plan on buying this from Amazon. Then after it's mailed to you. Take it to circuit city and ask them to install it for you?.... if that is what you are doing they are going to ask a hell of alot of the install. and thats if they even say they will do it... Or you could just buy it from circuit city and have them install it...

I understand what you mean but thats why i'm asking you where i can find a dealer to buy and install this system for me. I would really like the price to be low but if i have to spend a little more money for it to be done right i will. The only problem i might have right now is getting my dad's approval of getting this system. He doesn't really like me spending a lot of money but i kind of feel like i will need this system because the oem system doesn't seem that reliable. And the 2way pager is crazy cool :)

Ya know, everyone hates it when some smart-assed regular here on these forums answers a question with the reply:

:search: :search: :search: :search: :search: :search: :search: :search: :search: :search:

but in some cases it's so true. You've asked a couple times where you can find a dealer, and all you have to do is go to their website and :search: for the answer.

and here it is.......took me all of about 30 seconds to find it:

http://www.directed.com/contact/locator.asp

(......sigh!........)

I'm also curious what you find unreliable about the stock alarm. Mine seems to work just fine, and I had the dealer add the Mazda remote start unit, which works fine also. And you don't loose a key in the process.
But, to each their own...........go find your Viper dealer now.

Wow, i did search and i did list that link and no one seemed to have read it. Seriously though, i did do my share of the research, these questions are things i can't find through a search like experience. I've never had anything installed in my car because this is my first car ever so i really do not know how these things work. The only thing i couldn't find was the warranty information but everything else, if it could be searched i searched for it. So i will assume that the link is to an authorized dealer/installer and not just the addresses to places i can find the item.

On the stock alarm, i really have no problem with it because i live in a pretty safe city but I once i leave my car i don't know whats happening to it the whole time which the new system should fix. Also, when i bought my car I really really wanted the remote start but my dad didn't want to pay the extra $350 so i just didn't get it. But now I can get a cool pager, remote start, and a good security system on it for $50 more.

ya thats what i'm planning but my dad is in his saving money mood these few months and we're going to las vegas for christmas so a lot of money is being set aside. The last thing he wants to hear is me wanting to spend $500 on a better security system. Even if it was done right he would still not like it. And he's kind of stuck in the past and doesn't really belive in technology :(. Sigh... i might end up not getting the system and getting some HIDs or something, but thanks for all the input guys, maybe for my birthday i'll get the system. Or when someone does realy brake into my car my parents will finally realize it but lets hope not.
