Hi I'm new to the club and wondered if anybody had same problem, I have a 2016 Sport nav tourer with 91k on the clock, a couple of weeks ago I got three messages up on dash scbs forward malfunction, traction control and I stop was flashing, the car went into limp mode but when I turned engine off it all reset and ran ok, this happened a few more times so I took it to Mazda main dealers and they said might be dpf clogged up, so they unclogged it and said they were 99% sure this would fix it but it hasn't, the car is still doing it, it has lack of power, the auto box seems out of sync and if I give it some stick on the motor way it comes up with same messages again and goes into limp mode, I'm taking it back in next week and they're keeping it until it's fixed ( I hope), anyone had similar problems.

I have been having exactly the same problems with a 2016 Sport Nav auto tourer also.
Problem has been an issue for the last couple of years - dealer seems to blame it on all sorts of other issues (DPF, Turbo, engine needs a de coke etc etc....) but the problem always returns.
SCBS come on in 2 situations - 1, approaching cars at speed on the motorway while decellerating (not neccesarily braking) 2, engine braking down hill - when the gearbox changes down the error comes up.
This is a very frustrating error - the car has done 115,000 miles - has just had a new turbo and pretty much had a full engine rebuild 10,000 miles ago. I am suspecting due to the scbs coming on so much the car has been running in limp mode quite a lot and probably isn't great for the engine??
When the error appears I have to stop and restart the car - not ideal when it has to be done multiple times on long motorway journeys.
I also have a colleague in Romania having exactly the same issue!
I love the car car but this problem really is spoiling it and I really don't think I would have another one now.

Guys, any solutions? This just happened to me today: while driving downhill, car went into limp mode, SCBS and ESP lights were flashing... after restart everything was ok. I have mazda6 2.2. automatic gearbox.

Car has a new turbo.

I have the exact same problem! If I go downhill fast, the car will often go into limp mode. If I turn the car off and then on, everything is fine, no error codes.
Has someone found any solution to this?

I asked one forum member about it, he said it was a P0101 error code and a dirty map sensor. I hope they find your problem. Looking forward for your reply.

Anybody any updates as im having the same issues. Malfunction comes on, into limp mode it goes, have to stop and turn off the car as it comes up with dpf faults due to not being able to regen in limp mode. Somebody told me theres a modified exhaust pressure sensor thats supposed to correct this fault, not sure how true it is. Ive had a new MAF sensor on mine as i was told that was where the problem lay, didnt make any difference apart from £225 for a part i didnt need :(

I'm thinking it could be something with the EGR system, because I had some error codes regarding it, I'm planing to have it cleaned and have the sensors checked, including the MAP sensor.
Also, I got an android phone, so I can make live diagnostics while I'm driving, hopefully it will show me something when it happens.
if I know something more I'll post it here.

Hey! A little update. I was today at mazda workshop. They change the Air flow censor. Last time i was there they said this was broken. So today they change it, and also update the car with the latest updates. I have been testdriving the car, and for now it seems fine, been driving downhill and pushing it to get the failures i have been having, but everything seems normal. I will update you if the problem comes back. But hopefully this will help you guys with the problem too

Excuse this question but "Air flow sensor" would be the EGR valve

Uh, no. Neither has anything to do with each other. Im still trying to figure out the "link" between the braking system and the intake/exhaust system, it just doesnt compute to me. The ONLY thing i can think of, is the vacuum pump on the cam that supplies the brake booster, instead of a plenum vac port like they used to do.

today in Mazda they gave me 5 official recalls 3 were softwear updates 1 for the pistons of the boot lid and one to replace the brake booster pump (but this intervention is only necessary if the new softwea does not recognize it)

THIS would cause an SCBS error AFAIK.
even the errors on the EGR valve block the SCBS ... let alone an error on the brake booster pump. I think that any error or anomaly detected by the sensors alarms the whole system and blocks SCBS
it's my deduction anyway ... I'm not a mechanic

I guess its possible that since the EGR recircs to the intake and the pump is on the intake cam... maybe its "tied together" but it makes zero sense otherwise.
