Hi, Dutch GY Driver here. Did anyone of you try to repair their rusty sills themselves? Remove the rusted rocker panels and welding in new ones. And maybe made photos while doing so. searched the threads but didnt find anything.

At first I wasn't sure what you meant by sills. I was thinking top of roof not the wheelwells lol.

If yours is not as bad as the pics then this might help. He rebuilds them in his driveway on a Mazda.

By the looks of it, it's not that bad of a job but idk because I haven't had to deal with anything like that here in FL.

My 6 also has some rust on the rear wheel wells, the cost to replace them at a body shop is as much as the car is worth so it is not going to happen. The panels are pretty cheap, you can get them off eBay, replacing them is something I do not have the equipment, knowledge or skills to do on my own.
I'll just keep spraying rust-protecting oil to slow the rust process down as much as possible.
