Wow - the Renesis only takes about 40 minutes to build, and this can be speeded up with automation.

The rotary is much more simple than a piston engine, but that production time is phenominal! Keeping costs down to quick production has tremendous possibilites - maybe the RX7 (or a bit of a lower end sports car) won't be as expensive as we would think!

To digress, Mazda should have a true sports car at about $30,000, and I'd love to see a halo RX-7 come in at around $40,000, or maybe even up to $50,000. The halo car would shut up some Boxters and Z4's, and would give Mazda some excellent brand recognition. The RX7 already has a following (one drive in a rotary is all any enthusiat needs!) and it would be a great history to build a high respect for Mazda's image.

Hell, while we're at it, make it a real halo car - low production, low sales $100,000 rotary monster. Why not? Mazda doesn't have a car in this segment. Mazda has the capabilities to absolutely rock with a $100,000 halo car. If the $40,000 RX7 outperformed cars that cost 3 times as much, think of what they could do if they brought it into that segment!

Wowee!

Okay, enough carrying on. (for now :p)

It would be cool if the made two RX-7's. One of them could be near the price of the RX-8. This would give them a coupe in this segment. The second RX-7 could be an MPS halo version. Around 320hp selling for $50,000 would be good.
