My experience with aftermarket remote starts is an immobilizer bypass or extra key in needed hidden in steering column, assuming same goes for my wifes 2010 6. Question is if I get the factory remote start will I need the same thing or is it plug and play. Trying to decide between a viper alarm/starter or factory. Viper is cheaper, but my wife wont use/need extra functions. If the oem is plug and play I would prefer the simplicity of that without mesing with the immobilizer system.

The system available from Mazda is pretty much plug and play. There are some wires to tie into, I think, but you don't have to hide a key in the column or anything like that.
The only thing I dont like about the remote start is that it stops the engine when you get to the car and open the door to get in. I wish it would just keep running and transfer control to the users key when you get in.
