I have a Mazda 6 2012 GT and my radio panel wont display the songs name which is being played on the radio it display the FM 99.9 but not the actual songs name

Is that a capability? I don't think these cars have HD radio...

It doesn't have to be HD radio to display the info. That information is transmitted from the station. It's probably just not being sent by that particular station.

It's the standard radio in dash for the GT trim without the navigation screen I was wondering if the display panel where it shows the FM station you are on does it show the name and the station does transmit the name I can see it in my other car

I know this is a 6 year old post, but I just updated the firmware of my Mazda 6 18 plate and that added the feature, it was missing before. It now shows the song being sung and the artist's name.

Wrong section and Gen 3s have always had this built in with Gracenote and HDR.

What is Gracenote? I read up on it, but really didn't understand it.
Besides, the the attached, that was the issue I had, but now fine after update.

Gracenote provides Metadata for your musical selections. Unfortunately, it tends to be less than accurate at times.
