VW GTI R32. It has a VR6. I would imagine we would smoke them.

and smoked him i did. it was an 04-05 model. i would NOT pay $30G's for that 2 door sport sub-compact!

Those R32's run low 14's stock. A friend of mine has one with REvo tuning, CAI, and catback. I ran door to door with him in my stock 06 GTI. The launch is everything in the MS6, it's our forte if used properly.

Kid I know just got one imported, right hand drive, his dad owns some dealerships and gave him dealer plates for it... I would love to have one of those :)

Move to Canada. They are a dime a dozen here in Calgary. I wanted one when they became 13 years old, but decided to wait and see how many came over, the answer is way to many for me. The problem is most of them have been bought by young punks, so they get the cheapest most worn out versions, so they look like crap. Its really to bad.

They're damn expensive I know that much. A used 2004 model on the cheap goes for the cost of a brand new 2006 MS6! Low mileage examples are easily in the mid 20's! Eff that! They're only rated at 240hp and 236lbs tq and they're weighty too, right around 3,400lbs+ I believe. So the MS6 should be able to out run one easily. 5 cars is a lot though.

one thing is certain, the Skyline's have a TON of potential. Power upgrades are limitless

oh, in response to the actual question....
R32's are neat but aren't very fast
NA powered VR6, no thanks
If a stock one beats me, I'm selling my speed6

yeah the r32 golf is only marginally faster then a 06 gti at certain speeds. the ms6 will pull hard on it. its a great car though. the 3.2 vr6 is a tough engine and can VERY easily take a turbo or sc. there are plenty of people on vwvortex.com running 350-400 whp r32's. only really good thing about them is the broad tq band from the na v6 engine and the awd. the 06 gti can produce that much power from its turbo 2.0 but it will spin with its fwd and lack of lsd.

the reason they call then vr6 is because in german the r stands for some word that means straight or inline. they say that because if you have ever looked at the engine it only has a 15 degree v and looks like an inline 3 engine.

I think everyone has stated in pieces; awd, 6sp, vr6 engine, and imo one of the sexiest sounds ever (under $100k). But I don’t think anyone has mentioned the HPA upgraded one with ridiculous hp featured in GT4...

or this one with 550hp:

Stock for stock I would take the ms6 any day, but for moding, the r32 has the after market we are struggling to achieve.

W  W! you can get up to 360 hp for only 8Gs. http://www.hpamotorsports.com/products_tur...ngle_mk4r32.htm No friggin' thanks. I don't know exactly what it would take to get my Speed6 to that but I'm pretty sure I could do it for half that or less...
