i am looking to buy some rims... i went on tirerack.com and victoriatire.com so look at some deals. the tirerack recommend 215/50/17 but on victoriatire they recommend 215/45/17. i dont know if it makes that much of a difference but i thought we wanted to have the 50 because there will be more rubber height

Tire size will depend on wheel size. If you are sticking with 17x7 wheels, which is the stock size, you will want a tire size of 215/50/17 or 225/45/17.

i read that before i was just confused y one place would recommend a 50 and the other a 45

the ones on victoriatire.com are cheaper but they have the 45 and that is not what the sticky thing says it says 50 for the 17s so i dont know if it will make that much of a difference if it is 45 instead of the 50

215/45R17 is not recommended for the 6. That's why it's not listed on the sticky that I just gave you. Stick with the stock size 215/50R17 or if you want a lower profile tire (that is also recommended) go with 225/45R17. This is a popular size for 17" in this forum.
