I have a 2003 mazda 6i. It was running fine when i got home it sat for about 2 hours went to start it again and everything went nuts. the gauges go nuts and there is a fast ticking sound. the lights in the cluster flicker and dim the radio will go on and off it wont attemp to turn over when this is happening. i put a new battery in it and it made no differance, so i cleaned my grounds and still nothing.. PLEASE HELP this is my only car and i have no way to work on monday. Does anyone know what is going on with my car?

that is typically a battery issue, i would try jumping the car if possible to confirm though. i know you changed the battery already, but just to be safe.

otherwise the more common issue lately is the starter, though typically that won't cause any changes in lighting or gauge sweeps....just the noise and lack of start.
