All this cheap CAI talk got me thinking how I could make one of these.

Here's the list of items you'll need to make this version:

A) 5 small Campbell's condensed soup cans. I found that Chicken & Rice works the best during my extensive testing.

B) 1 large soup can. I suggest another Campbell's can. I wouldn't use Progresso - you can really get into trouble if you mix vendors.

C) 1 can opener.

D) 1 aviation snips.

E) 6.5 feet of aluminum foil tape (or duct tape if you haven't got the money for the fancy stuff).

F) 12 pop rivets and pop rivet gun (optional)

G) A strong liking for soup. I hate soup now.

That's it! The large can is the scoop at the front. I'm sure you can figure out the rest.

So here's the total cost:

Cans: free! (Hey, you've got to eat anyway, right!?)
Tape: .25 aluminum, .07 duct
Rivets: .15 (optional)

Total: .07 - .40

Sure, it'll probably rust out in a year or so, but at only 7 cents, you could make 50+ of these for the cost of one of those "other" cheap CAI kits.

I'm thinking of using the money I saved to wrap the whole thing in neon lights...that'd be pimp!

I'd like to post pictures, but I'm still working on the patent application. Soon as that's done I'll be sure to post some. ;)

Blah soup!!!!

I broke my jaw last summer and it was wired shut. I had to eat blended soup everyday for 5 weeks.

I don't think I am going to use this mod :)

What was that quote attributed to P.T. Barnum...oh yeah, "There's a sucker born every minute." :D

See http://www.historybuff.com/library/refbarnum.html for info on the quote.
