There's the hypertech tuner. Good for beginners also good on price. Then there is the powermod that the great NY sells. This is a piggy back tuner. It will work if you have a late model 05 or an 06-08. Then there are standalone tuners but those are a couple grand for set up.
my buddy has the hypertech for chevy, how is it for the 6? will it do everything i should need it to do for simple bolt on mods?
to bad i dont have a second gen 6, it seems like they have a bit more versatility as far as modding goes.

The second gen has horrible aftermarket support. There is a lot more you can do. The hypertech is good for simple bolts ons. It will not let you adjust timing or fuel which on your own. It's all off the shelf maps programmed in.

build ona 6i

Hey I have an 08 6i with the 5spd ATX, and I want to turbo it in the long run. Now, I want to beef up the engine and transmission to be able to handle some pretty solid power, and I was wondering what the limits are on this also does anyone know a good list of components to beef these up to be able to handle this? this will be an overtime build, probably starting with brakes and suspension then the engine and trans, exhaust etc all before a turbo
