I recently got a magnaflow catback and am considering an Injen intake.

Is it really worth it to dish out another $250 + install to gain 8whp?
For CP-E's MAFci system??

HELL YES!!!!

I will be taking the dive and ordering my own in the next month or two. It's definitely worth it IMO especially if you get the tunable version.

Edit: I guess my dumbass read that question wrong :(

where'd CP-E come from? and no, for the 6i it isn't worth the price tag over other intakes. The intake is definitely something you should be looking at though.

Not that Injen or AEM are bad or worthless by any means, but so many members have had good results from the off-brand intakes, it makes ya think twice about what you get for the extra $100 price difference.

have to agree there. i started with a gutted stock airbox, then went to the ebay Injen clone for like $30 shipped, then upgraded to a real Injen intake, and now im finally content with the AEM intake.

in all truth, i noticed a very small gain when i 1st gutted the airbox. but since then, i havent noticed any difference when i put the fake injen on, the real injen, or the aem. i just didnt like the 2 piece design of either the injen, or injen clone. wanted a cleaner look. thats why i went with the AEM. plus the AEM puts the maf sensor out of sight in the fender well which cleans up the engine bay that much more.

my fav intake of the 5 i tried, balance of performance and sound was when i ran the AEM short ram setup. I think that's why i liked the Injen clones as i think i was preferring the SRS over CAI for my driving style.

start with cheap and go from there

Anyone care to inform the new guy about what this is?
AEM intake on it's way and wondering if I could do these at the same time?

Just trying to figure out more info on this. Thanks

Short ram will give you more power down low, but they get heat soaked easily.

Cai will net you more overall power, and you will notice it more in the upper rpms

Since it is so close to the engine it is susceptible to absorbing the heat radiating off the engine, making it less efficient because of the higher temps.

Ok so another question,

It does not fit in my head how people are saying they got a $30 dollar injen knockoff on ebay and a $260 injen intake and did not notice a difference in performance / sound. It just does not feel right to buy a $30 intake. Very skeptical. Even if I do get an AEM filter to go alongside it

compare the ebay one to the injen. its spot on a clone. and theres really no trick to it. measure the pipe, and copy the bends. there's nothing special about the injen beyond the sticker and the price tag. well, and the original R&D that the ebay guys never had to do. hence the lower price tag. after owning both, i wouldnt be that surprised to find out they both came out of the same factory, and just never got a decal added.
