So this noise has been driving me nuts! I suck at describing stuff, but I'll try my best. It only happens when the car has been sitting overnight and it's gets cold so only in the mornings, but it doesn't happen throughout the day when I'm driving around. It's coming from the passenger side forward of thefloor board. Best way to describe the sound is a sort of a faint, but still audible clunking sound. I replicated the sound by going over speed bumps and engaging/disengaging the clutch. It begins to go away as the car warms up.

I've visually inspected the car and nothing seems out of place or loose. I don't know where else to start looking or have a clue what it could be. Thanks in advanced :)

wheel bearing ? that's a tough one can u determine if its under the hood or by the wheels ? maybe have someone drive with you to listen from passenger seat.

Passenger engine mount, do some search here cause I had the same problem. Another member here pm'ed about the same problem, and the shop couldnt replicate it, but she went on and replaced it and fixed that annoying problem. You can probably do it yourself, you need a jack, floor jack and a BFC(big fucking crowbar) so you can loosen up that bolt. Once loose, check if the rubber seals are broken and the fluids inside the mount are coming out. Its the only way.

I was thinking about that passenger side mount, too DJ. Just needed a second opinion. I'm going to check it out next time I go to the auto hobby shop. I have heard of this mount failing. Sounds like it's going to be a pain in the ass. Ugh. AWR?... hmmm

Ray, I'm going to take the old lady for a spin and try to have her pinpoint where the sounds is directly coming from. If we know more or less where it is, I can narrow down the problems.

If it makes a noise when its cold out, tell the passenger to wait till the car is warmed up before getting in...

Did you start noticing the sound after you installed the TTFMM? A failing PMM might 've been causing the previous clunk?

I can almost ASSURE you that it's the passenger mount. Had the exact same noise. Only happened for the first minute or so when first leaving my house in the morning. Very pronounced in first and second gear, throttle tip-in.

Replaced the mount, not only is that noise gone but the car feels so much more solid than before.

I have the same noise and it goes away after car warms up. Thought it wasn't a problem and was too lazy to bring in it b/f warranty went out b/c I didn't want to waste time dealing with the dealer not being able to reproduce the problem.
Looks like I need to replace the passenger side motor mount then.

It was happening before the mount was installed. I can say that the mount quiet the noise down.

Thanks for the tips fellas! I'm going to rip into the PMM when I get the chance. I'm going to check out the AWR mounts. Might as well upgrade them if I'm going to get it replaced. Is anyone here running these? How bad are the vibes?

To me they were bad cause I have all mounts upgraded, I couldnt stand em. So thats I removed the passenger mount and put back the stock one. Some ppl dont mind and like the extra NVH. But like I said before I got a mount for sale, it has both the 70 and 88 duro bushings, pm me if your insterested...

So these passenger mounts are a big problem? Mine has a nice shake to it while in gear and idling and with the ac on...... Are you guys talking about the mount that sits right near the wheel well? So place a jack under the engine and im guessing one holding the vehicle in the air then brake that top bolt? Im guessing that is a cover on top (metal)? Thanks fellaz
