Hello! I was working on my 04 6S, approx 180k, and while working on replacing the calve cover gaskets and plenum gaskets, saw that the passenger motor mount stud is sheared off. From digging around in the tire well, it appears that this piece is potentially welded/made with this piece. Ideas???

Yes, that was one of the reasons I noticed it. Most of the diy’s for the valve cover gaskets suggest loosening that mount for easier removal of the rear cover. I intend to replace the part. The issue is that a piece is gone. Vanished. Ghosted. Went to get milk.

Yep looks like that stud is broken off. I believe it is welded in in the wheel well like you said, but luckily you can get access to it. It's kind of hack, but the easiest solution might be to chop it off with a cutoff wheel and knock it out, replacing with a bolt/nut from the hardware store. Since our cars only have the 3 mounts, it's pretty vital that they be attached well.

I was guessing the same thing. The previous owner left the torque wrench behind in the trunk, and after it shearing off two of my valve cover gasket bolts, I can see why they left it. I would have tossed it myself, instead of making the next person think they saved $25. I was planning on using a dremel, same concept, different scale. Obviously going to go with a 10.9, but considering the nut also seems to be gone, I guess I have options haha.
