My rear bumper was repainted last night at the dealership where they backed my 6s into something.

The service department is saying I can pick it up tonight. I thought auto paint took longer to cure. Anyone have expertise in that area? It's raining out, too. I'm a little nervous that it won't be fully cured and I'm getting it dirty driving it home.

They dry the paint with heat lamps. Dirt will not stick to it like it is wet paint. The surface is dry. But the paint will not be fully "cured" for about 3 months. Just wash it like normal but don't wax that part untill it has had time to set.

Be careful not to use a high powered hose on it either! I made that mistake several weeks after having a front bumper repainted on a Jetta. Stripped off the paint with ease.

Had to have it redone.
