What exactly is an optimized throttlebody? I'm familiar with the throttlebody on my Mazda and will soon be replacing it with a new one but I've since read various posts on this forum refering to the otb and was wondering if this is an alternative to the stock throttlebody and if so...is it someything I should consider before investing in the new stock one?

Be careful on the knifing (thinning of throttle butterfly). Your idle may be thrown off (higher) and may get codes if not re-installed properly. I believe in getting rid of the shaft on most of 1 side, but leave original bolts in it for guaranteed fit. You will still get more flow. Apparently you have to re-thread with a tap (a small delicate shaft) to put new countersunk bolts in and drill out butterfly----alignment issues anyone?????
