What do you think of the Mazda 2 (still called 121 (Metro) in some country's) ?

SPORT

COZY / SUPERCOZY / CASUAL

I really like the Sport. Modern headlights and the car just looks tuff. But I don't like those spoilers which are 'sticked' in the car. I prefer others bumpers for Sport-versions

But now the normal versions: AAAAAARGH! I don't get it! The proto MX Sport Runabout was such a cool car! But the production 2 looks like a freakin' Suzuki! They had to paint those 'windowstyles' (don't know the proper word for it) in black, they shoudn't put those hideous wheel covers on the 2, and the tail- and frontlights looks both everything but modern. So I will give the car a 6.5, because the interior looks good, very good!!

The much better looking Runabout. Okey, those alloys are a bit unrealistic, because most cars of that kind aren't sold with such alloys but the lights look better

I don't really like small cars at all. But this one is quite nice.

Just a small thing: isn't the taillights very Alfa-like??

Hi Matt Mazda !!

All I can say is.....WOW !!!

What a great looking small car !!!

There are elements of the New Mazda6 Everywhere in the Mazda2 !!

The interior looks absolutely beautiful, especially in the Sports Model (the Orange one)

It looks extremely practical as well........

These are definitely the best Pictures I have seen of the Mazda2 So Far.

It will be in Australia in November , can't wait to see one in the Metal !!

The Runabout is super cool. The 2' is a little bit to "cute" fr my taste (like the VW Polo for instance). But the orange 2' is quiet good looking after all... Some things though. The painted grill top (witch is chrome on the 6, 626 and other newer Mazdas) should be chrome on this one to. And the headlights in the light-light-light yellow one looks reallt strange... Like the tried to fit one of these old 1930-style chrom "not-build-into-the-body"-lights behind the glass... Silly...

And worst of all - THE STEERING WHEEL IS JUST TO MUCH VECTRA!

As I said; it is still called Demio in Japan (prehaps also in Australia?) but Mazda 2 in the rest of the world

That is really annoying. Atenza for example... It sounds MUCH cooler then "6".

True true, but it sounds just like the Altezza from Lexus (what we know as IS200/300). And we had the 626, so the 6 is a better sequel (spelled wrong, right?)

I disagree. "6" to me stands for something sporty, while "Atenza" sounds like a...a...Fiat...

I think I am colored by the BMW-series badging 3-series, 5-series etc.

And btw, sequel is spelled just like that!

That car is adorable. It's like a stuffed animal version of a car. It's interesting that even in an economy model like this, the JDM version still gets a nav. system. I wonder if Japanese all have a genetic predisposition toward a poor sense of direction. I know I do.

The previous model In Australia was called the Mazda 121 "Metro"

It's interesting how there are different names for the Same Car in different countries.......It can get very confusing.
Eg,

In Japan
Mazda Demio

In Australia
Mazda 121 "Metro", Mazda2 (for new model)

In Asia
Rebadged as Ford Festiva Wagon, not even a Mazda Model !!!

You know what is funny; Our 323F looked like this:

But 6 months ago the 323 had a tiny facelift (again) and now we have the same (better!) rear lights as the Protege5

The first and second 323F:

The F on those 323's stood for "Future" because they looked very modern for that time

Yes its very confusing !!!!

All those Pics you posted of the 323F, they were all called 323 Astina in Australia.

We also have the sedan version, which is called 323 Protege....
