This is the first car I've ever owned with a canister style filter, so I'm not sure all what I need to change the oil. I noticed an oring for the canister and a drain plug with an oring on the canister as well. Do those both get changed at every oil change?

Any special tools needed to remove the canister?

Any tips are much appreicated.

oil change

No offense intended but :search: is your friend. There is a lot of interesting posts regarding our MS6. Good luck, it's not hard at all.

Like he said, a bunch of posts but here are some things I found.

The oil filter wrench that's mentioned in the posts is known as "B" size (76mm/14flutes). Around $4.00 at Autozone. You'll need a hex key to undo the filter and be ready for oil splashing down.

Accessing the underneath requires removing the shield (10mm bolts) and one press on rivet. Put your fingers around the back side of it and push it out.

The rest? Is easy...
