No Sound Factory Radio not working

I'm having a problem with my factory non bose radio. I started my car last night and heard a pop sound. I turned up the volume on my radio and no sound was coming out of the speakers. I'm still able to switch through the channels. When I load a CD it starts counting. I don't think it's a fuse issue cause I wouldn't be able to switch through the channels or load a cd. Anyone have any suggestions before I buy a aftermarket HU and the metra kit.

it could be speakers or the stock HU. you can always pull the stock HU and test your speakers with a digital multi-meter. your speakers should all read 4 Ohms. if the speakers test good, it's proabably the HU.

what's your model year? are you under warranty? if not, this may be a good chance to upgrade.

It's a 2004 and the warranty ran out about 12k miles ago. I'll give the speaker test a try though.
