I really jealous you guys who have so many different models of 6. In Hong Kong, we have the 1.8L automatic only. I don't think that the dealer here is going to bring in the 3.0L, but I really hope that they could import the 2.3L (stick shift, in particular). Does anybody know when are we going to have 2.3L in Hong Kong? I have been waiting for four months already and there is no news about importing the 2.3L yet.:(

Really...??? only 1.8L, I thought you guys would at least have the 2.0L.

We get only the 2.0s in Singapore, although they did bring in 20 units of the 2.3L and marketed it as the limited edition for the Singapore market. Last I heard they were all sold out.

Welcome to the board by the way.:p

i just wonder why HK cant have the 2.3 while they can have the more powerful nissan GTR! by the way, I've got the 2.3 tiptronic in Australia, it's cool! driving couldn't be more fun without the stick shift!

Word is that Singapore will get more of the 2.3 in 2003. Can't confirm exactly when though.

Unfortunately, the 2.3 is expensive to maintain in Singapore due to a "road tax" which is pegged to the engine capacity of the car. So in essence, the larger the engine, the more expensive the tax is. That's why we've got so many underpowered cars in Singapore including 1.5litre Nissan Sentras and 2 litre Camrys :p

How much is the COE (more or less) currently for this car?
Didn't the luxury tax go down to 130% from 140% recently?

I didn't even realise that there were 1.8L and 2.0L of the Mazda 6!
I drove a 2.3L and it felt a little underpowered...
so whats the power on the 1.8L and 2.0L????

The 2.0 L engine has a horsepower of 150 ps and a torque of 18.6 kg-m. The engine is average in performance in compare to other 2.0 L engines. It feels a bit sluggish under 2500 rpm. However, the power comes out quite readily over 3000 rpm. In Hong Kong, we don't really need a 3.0 V6 because it's mostly city driving. That's why I think the 2.3 L will be the perfect engine for a place like Hong Kong.

The lip spoiler, the tail spoiler, the side skirts, and the fog lights are all dealer installed options. It came in a optional package causing roughly HK$5000.

I posted this reply a few days ago. But I don't know why it's gone as I look at it again today!!
