Hey there,

I just got a used 2018 Mazda 6 Signature and the brakes are feeling kind of funny. Basically, if I press down slowly on the brake pedal for the first 1/2 inch or maybe 1/3rd inch there's very little resistance (and no braking), and then past that I start to get actual braking with normal resistance. Could it be air in the brake lines? The car has only 30,000 KM (~ 19K miles) but its mostly city driving, so brakes and tires are already at 60% of use.

Thanks in advance,

Normal. You dont want much if any braking in that little bit, its unsafe. But since it may be under warranty, its no biggie to have them checked out or bled.

Thanks for the response. I know every brand's brakes feel different so I just wanted to make sure. I'm going back to the dealer to have them check it just incase, while I'm still under the 30 day money back period.
