hi, i drive a M6 2.3L 2004, and i do a lot of road trips. and since ma car iz equipped with carputer, and heavy sound system, full lights and many many things that suck the car's power dry i came up with this idea
i installed an extra battery in ma car's trunk and a gauge for it where i can see, i hooked it with a safety switch so it wont stay connected forever. Since the troubles of running out of power comes when ya want to start ya car. its solved now, just turn the safety switch on, that will charge the original battery, turn on the car, thats enough. ya can turn the safety switch off now. let the engine do the rest filling ya battery again...
it didnt cost me much, its a battery, switch, the gauge, and the cables, make sure they r thick enough. I really wish if future cars got at least a reserve battery to start up the car only.
thanx for passing by
