I'm travelling to Atlanta in November for some training. Training takes place at 1200 Abernathy Rd
Suite 200 (Northpark 600 Building). I think I'm going to stay at the doubletree hotel on 6120 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd.

What's in that area for food and entertainment during the evening? How's the public transit in that area or is it best to rent a car if I want to go to a Thrashers game. Anything intersting to do there during the evenings? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well you sound like you will be kinda close to most of the Atlanta action. My new favorite place to hang out, eat, shop, watch movies is the http://www.atlanticstation.com/.
The http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/ is a nice place to visit.
The Atlanta Zoohttp://www.zooatlanta.com/home.htm
I think http://www.sixflags.com/ will be closed for the season when you get here.

As for transit. It's aight but I would say rent a car with a Nav system. Much faster to get around.

I agree with ATL. Rent the car. Our public transportation (MARTA) is certainly not one of the better ones in the country. You would think think a city as big as Atlanta would be much better.
