hopefully the picture shows. was poking around under the hood and noticed some oil spots, followed the trail under the engine cover and looks likes it coming from that sensor looking bit there. Anyone know what that part is? It’s the part there in the middle of the oil spot, just left of the coil. It has a wire going into it and no visible bolts holding it in.

Looks like the Oil Control Valve. I had this issue on my old Mazda6 (2018).
In order to replace, my dealer had to order and install a new valve cover.

If I am reading the threads correctly, to fix the leak at the oil control valve seal you must replace the seal. To remove the seal you must remove the valve cover, which then requires a new valve cover gasket (and not an entirely new valve cover).

Correct?

It looks like you can replace the OCV seal by itself. (My GY Mazda requires a whole new rocker cover to be purchased).

• It looks like the OCV seal part number is PE01-10-2D5
• It looks like the rocker cover gasket is PY01-10-235
• The OCV itself is PE01-14-420
