2007 6i, 2.3L, 5sp ATX, 30,000 miles

I was planning on doing a 3x drain and refill of the transmission fluid. Is it necessary at this point to change the filter too? Searching the forum I see some people just do the drain and refill through the plug while others drop the pan.


Also, any final word on whether or not this transmission has a crush washer on the drain plug? I'd so, what is the part number? I'm having a hard time searching for it.

With only 30k miles, you don't need to drop the pan. If you want, you could install an in-line filter to the trasmission, and that is easier to replace on a more frequent basis. As for the crush washer, yes it does haveone, but not sure on the size. Do a search on here and you can find it. It's a cheap part.
