It's because the 6 is such a great car, people are saying "why did I buy this <insert car make/model here> when I could've waited for the 6?" You now, 20/20 hindsight. ;)

I only changed my 2000 Miata to a 6s because the arrival of our baby meant I needed to seat 3.

I drove an '89 Ford Probe from '89 till 2000.

Hahahaha... so my fiancee isn't the only one who doesn't like my steering wheel cover, eh? ;) Well, I went through 2 of a different kind, the ones with those black knobby thingamabobs in 3 places. The knobbies kept coming off on me! Finally I said "screw it", and got one of those other covers, which I've had in the past. They may not look the best, but they work great and they're very comfy, too!

As for the dash cover, I got that from the dealer. It's to keep down the heat, and also to protect the dash from cracking. It also makes for better traction when you try to set things up on your dash temporarily. :)

Well, along with what I said before, I myself also have a bad habit of getting what I *think* I want in a car, and then later finding that it wasn't what I really wanted after all. I hope that doesn't happen with the 6! :) But I doubt it will; I had everything I wanted in my '99 Camry, except a low payment! ;)

Hi,
Just an interesting observation.
A lot of you guys change cars every two years or so it seems.
Do you lose a lot of money when you trade them in in such a short time?
Here in Australia, on average, the car loses 20% in the first year, then 15% in year two, and 15% in year three. This means that by year 3 it is only worth half of what you paid for it.
I had a 2001 Nissan Maxima (Infiniti I30 to you Americans) which I sold just after 10 months on my Mazda6. I lost 20% of its value when trading it in. I usually keep my cars for 4-6 years.
I would be interested in your replies

Thanks

Im not buying my 6 until a year from this coming July...aaah the humanity! LOL by that time I will have had my truck 5.5 years....just long enough to pay it off, although I may keep it and not trade it in.

Let see.. I had a 1980 Chevy Malibu that I had from 1991-1993, then an 84 Honda Accord That I had from 1993- 1994 Trans went out so I replaced that with a 1994 Escort which i kept until 1998 and bought my truck, which if i trade it will be from 1998-2004

We change car when it feels like the old one is going to be troublesome soon. We have always had new cars.

I think the 6 is a pretty big upgrade from the last ones :D

2002 - Mazda6 estate
1996 - Renault Laguna estate
1988 - Volvo 745 GL (light gray)
198x - Volvo 745 GL (red)
197x - Volvo 245 (uknown trim level - before my time)
197x - Volvo 344 or something like that. Rented. Green at fugly.
196x - Dad had a Ford Taunus.. Blue. Fugly.

Yeah I really can't stand them either :( But in Mazda's vid it says that you have to remember that Camry's are primarily built for use in fleets. That being their main concern they're going to focus on getting as much space as they can out of their cars. And who cares about performance on a fleet car?

And reliability.....

Toyotas are more reliable than Nissan/Mazda/Mitubishi/Suzuki/etc. But when you take good car of the car, then it really doesn't matter which car you have since it'll last long. And mazda designers are best! :D

I went from my first car a maroon 1990 Toyota Camry 4cyl auto which I bought from my parents in 1996, to my current car a 1996 black 2 door Camry 4cyl 5 spd. I bought this car because I sold my first Camry w/ 190k and still got $2500 for it and it still ran strong. I bought my current car because I hadn't seen too many 2doors and this one looked good w/ the tinted windows on a black car. The problem is that I bought this car in college in 2000 but, I put over $5000 dollars of aftermarket parts into it and I'll probably only sell it for 6k. I like the reliability of Toyota's but the 6 is such a nice looking car I had to have one and I figured if I'm going to buy a new car I might as well get every option. Hopefully I'll be taking delivery in April.

Gotta love those Toyotas...you seem to love them as well. :thumbup
However, as much as I love Toyota, the 6 is too nice a car and too fun to drive. I need a 4 door and I can't see my self having fun in a Camry.

That's the problem I have now, actually. :) When I bought my Camry, I wasn't looking for something that was fun to drive, I was looking for something that was practical, roomy & comfortable, and that didn't cost a whole lot. I got a good deal on my Camry, and I was happy with it. I mainly just drove to work and back. But then I got laid off from my job, and ended up getting another job that has me driving all over the county. So since I'm now spending a LOT more time in my car than I used to, having something fun to drive has suddenly become important. Of course, had the 6 been around a year and a half ago when I bought the Camry, I most likely would've bought one of them instead of the Camry.

Hopefully one day I'll own a 6. They've been very hard to come by around here! The manual V6's are in very short supply, and they're getting snapped up as quickly as they're coming in. But hopefully, if I'm just patient, I'll get one... :)

Neither; I'm getting a sedan. I like 'em better. :) The wagon would also be of interest to me, but both the wagon and the hatch won't be available in the US until next year. I just can't wait that long. ;)
