Searched for any threads about this but could'nt find any so...

Took my MPS to a track for a high speed test beacuse I had a hard time to belive in the stated topspeed 240km/h (149 mph). Well it's a loooong straight and at the end of it the speedometer, still climbing, showed 265km/h (165 mph). I had to break or become one with nature but I think it would have reached 270-275km/h (167-170 mph). This is with the speedometer mounted stock in the car. I don't know the actual speed.

Has anyone else tried their cars topspeed on a track?

That seems shockingly high for this car. I think it would do 150 tops, but whats the point?

this is in line. nicely done. make sure u remove the antenna when attempting because that thing will whip in the wind. any idea what the rpm was at the top?

btw, what kind of rims are those?

Why is it shockingly high? My Peugeot 406 Coupé V6 with 220 bhp and 300Nm (221 lb-ft) did 250+ km/h...

The point is not relevant at all, I was just curious.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET ... that's what I love to hear about this car. But, dude ... is the car stock? There has got to be some mods to it. 160 mph sounds a little crazy stock. If it is, man ... I gotta take my car to California Speedway, or find my way to Talladega and test it myself. How long was this straightaway?

Ahhh...hmm, the antenna. Well I was lucky I guess, it never whiped my car. Gaaahhh, never checked the rpm. I'll go there again someday soon and I'll check the rpm I promise.
The rims are my winterrims JCL 17" that I bought with the car. I dön't have any information about them beacuse I never heard about them before. :sarc:

chrman: I did the run using 6:th gear. On 5:th - 6800 rpm at 235-240km/h.

EDIT...
alex6speed: The car is stock!

I thought they had a fuel shutoff at 150, but the guy's telling you what he saw on his speedo, equivalent to 165. If the socialist Sweden spec MS6 can do it, I guess ours can, too, since they have a higher HP rating. As to why, why climb Mt. Everest, why do anything dangerous? Just to have done it! That said, hopefully everyone makes an informed decision as to what risks they want to take given their responsibilities to themselves and others.

Do your 17" tires match the original 18" tire circumference? If not there could be speedo skew.

<---- Note my avitar

Actual top speed just before the limiter hit. It was still pulling, and rode SMOOTH as glass.

Most overseas cars do not have limiters, and its nice to see the car pulling...

If we could get the car to make boost past 5500 top speed would be much easier ;)

I've Hit 230 km/h in mine, twice. Pulled hard all the way, not like my old bonneville, where it pulled to 190, then took forever to hit anything above that, there was still lots left, but I thought it was limited to 240, so I thought that was close enough...next time perhaps I'll have to see.

I've did 0-62 mph (100km/h) in 5.9 sec. just like the magazine that pulled 266hp on the wheels.
0-58 on second gear then shifting to 3:rd. Why can't they make second gear a little "longer".
I feel second gear as somthing in between. When I slam third gear in the car really takes of!

I've noticed an other funny thing. No my car flat out at 6800-7000 rpm instead of around 6000 rpm like before.

De lurer noen folket noe av tiden men ikke all folket all den tid. Me old China you have a car for the Guiness Book of Impossibilities! Leave that frankfurter alone boy or you'll go blind.....my MPS does 110kph that's the maximum speed limit in the Eastern states in OZ. :sarc:
