Anyone know when the MP3 option will become available for order? Also, what about the MD option? I want to order my car with both installed but don't know how long I need to wait before these are available at the port.

thanks,

The same question for Europe ...
I've already asked my dealer to start looking for it (MP3 player, the MD is already available).
Anybody has any idea on its price or the range? is it approximately the price of the 6CD changer?

I emailed Mazda USA about the MP3 option and got this reply on January 6:

QUOTE
Dear Denny,

I've heard back from our Product Department. They have advised the MP3
player can be installed by your local Mazda dealership. They also
advised the MP3 player should be available sometime in March.

I hope this information proves helpful. Please let me know if I can be
of any further assistance.[/b]

Thanks! But, I wonder... does the clause, "They also
advised the MP3 player should be available sometime in March" mean that the option will be available in March at the port, or at the dealer?

I sent an e-mail yesterday to Mazda Belgium asking them about an MP3 and/or DVD-player and got this as an answerQUOTE
Ref. : TD046/03

Dear Mr <name>

We are hereby reporting a good reception of your information on 16 and 17/02/03 which has caught our attention.

We are very happy to hear you are interested in the Mazda6.

Regretably we are not aware of manufacturers that would produce a console slot for the Mazda6; this car already has an audio system standard, however we do know that they are working on the possibility of installing a radio in the compartment of the DVD navigation system.

An MP3 player will be available for this modular auio system soon.  For safety reasons it is not possible to play DVD's in the navigation system and this option will not be available in the future either.

Please note however that we have an M-box in our assortment. This portable multimediabox can be placed in the backseat of car and offers several possibilities such as DVD, (S)VCD,
MP3, CD-R, CD-RW and an AV-out for instance for video-games.  This accessory is available in 3 colours:

ref. : 4100-78-380 (back)
ref. : 4100-78-381 (grey)
ref. : 4100-78-382 (beige)
price : 1.821,74 Euro + TAV

For more information, please contact an official MAZDA-dealer.

Kind regards,

On the phone they said that the MP3-player is the same as the one on the MAZDA2.
