No rear end or interior pics? That sucks. Also, are there any specifications yet for the engine?

At the end of the press release it stated that it would have the same 2.0L I-4as the Mazda6.

Yep, it will go in production, but with other bumpers and stuff like that. And offcourse normal door-handlers and probably different rearlights (shape will be the same offcourse).

Engines:

1.4 (80hp)
1.6 (105hp)
2.0 (150hp)
2.3 (166hp) <- not for Europe :(

Diesels:
90 and 110hp common rails from PSA (Peugeot and Citroën)

The real Mazda3 will be shown at the IAA in Frankfurt

chindo,

The car being shown in Geneva is just a concept, but it is very similar to the Mazda3 that will go into production.

It's like the orange Mazda MX Runabout concept car shown at the '03 Toronto autoshow. The Runabout was introduced in Geneva last year and is 95% the same as the production Mazda2. The MX Sportif is the same for the Mazda3.

And yes, the Mazda3 will hit N. America, as the replacement for the Protege.

Where do you find this info? Also, are all those 1.4-2.3L engines be available in USA? 1.4L engine should get like 40 + mpg. Also, do you have any pics of what concept looks at the back?

Dunno, but I don't think so

Nope. This is the one and only official picture from Mazda to warm us up for Geneva. So we just have to wait a few weeks

Haris,

For the N. American market, we're getting the 2.0l and 2.3l only. And the hp numbers will be tuned differently for our market, my estimate is 140hp for the 2.0l and 160hp for the 2.3l.

Speak for yourself! The NA market must be subdivided into Canada and the US. Here in the US, we don't get the 2.0, only the 2.3 and the 3.0.

2.3l and 3.0l for the Mazda3? I don't think so - though it'll be way cool.
