I have a 2003 Mazda 6 6-cylinder stick. It has done very well for me until the last month or so.
I just had my oil pan replaced ($453 parts, labor, tax). As I was waiting to take my car in to have the oil pan replaced, my car started doing a "lurching" thing when I would accelerate up through gears. At first, I wondered if the two issues might be related, but I had the oil pan replaced and the lurching is still happening.
My mechanic tells me that the lurching is being caused by a suspension mount that needs to be replaced (another $300 parts, labor, tax).
Does it make sense that this behavior would be the results of a suspension mount needing to be replaced? I thought it might be a clutch-related issue, but they are telling me it's not.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Craig
