Has anyone managed to install an LSD into the differential (FWD) of the 143 ps 6-speed? I live in a hilly snowy area and would like it both for practical purposes in the winter and for sports purposes.

Hi,

I do not have an answer for you question but i like to share my opinion and experience about the traction of the Mazda 6.

Where i live there is also a lot of snow and i found that the DSC system on the Mazda is quite good! Once we got snow in April and i was with summer tires ( new though ) and i had to drive with them. The car was moving very good in the snow. I turned off DSC just to test the theory that TSC and other systems sometimes are bad for snow etc; and the car did not want to move at all! DSC ON again and it was moving like charm :) I found TSC on mazda very responsive and agressive without you notice.

Though is a pity that Mazda did not made 4x4 model with diesel engine, only 2.3i I think.

The one in my 06 was fine and still a manual. I kept it on in the snow and had better luck. Slowing the car down doesn't burn a clutch, slipping it does.
