I was accelerating pretty hard from a stop light. I was in the meat of 2nd gear and the car hit a spot along the road where the front tires lost traction for a second. When the front wheels hit the road again there was a loud bang!

It's the first time this has happened. I assume the engine just moved enough that it made contact with the firewall but I was curious if this has happened to others.

Car drove and ran just fine afterwords so I doubt anything broke but I'm going to take a better look when I get home from work.

No way in hell the motor moved that much. It was just your car hitting the ground while the wheels were spinning.
Good to know but damn was it a shocking bang. lol The kind that makes you wonder what you just broke and makes wheel hop seem not so bad. It was the volume more than the violence that surprised me.
