So my 2006 Mazda 6 S 3.0L 's [65k miles] clutch is starting to go (needle jumps to crazy high RPMs while pressing the accelerator and the car stays at the same speed) and I am wondering about what price for labor I can expect to pay to have the clutch replaced.

I'm looking at a Clutch Masters Stage 1 clutch and will probably just have the stock flywheel resurfaced. I know its like an 8 hour job, but was wondering if anyone has had theirs replaced recently and have any insight or intelligent estimates for labor. (I already did a search and couldn't find any recent answers that were to the point, other than one person saying around $500-600 for labor)

Thanks!

I got my clutch replaced last year at Mazda for $1380, includes flywheel resurfaced, sport clutch(more grab than stock), and labor. oh yeah, free rental(new CX-7) until my car was done+1yr warranty!
