Ok, so the pump on the Labonte State 2 kit has 16 gauge wires for + and -. However, ALL the controller wires are 20 gauge, and the + on the pump (16) goes to a green wire on the controller (20 gauge). Why the hell is this? Can this cause any kind of voltage issue?

It's like the regardless of whether or not you have a fail safe controller in addition to the normal size kit. If it doesn't matter that it goes from 16 gauge to 20, why didn't they just make the pumps with 20 gauge wire?

Someone clue me in here, because this doesn't make any sense.

TIA

probably a pump that has more than one application or use. Probably doesnt run the pump as hard with that meth setup therefore the 20 would handle enough current. Possibly in another application if its working the pump harder, itd need more current and therefore higher gauge wire.

Really tho nothing to be worried about. yea 20 gauge is a bit small but should run no prob since your not running 30 ft of 20ga. length also affects the gauge of wire needed to carry the required current.

Thanks man. There's a few places in the wiring diagram the require connecting 3 wires connecting... what's the best way to solder 3 wires together? I'm not soldering those just yet, as the controller I have MAY not be compatible with the Fail Safe controller. So, I'm just gonna use connectors for now. I take it I can put up some sort of "T" connector to rig three wires at a time in the meantime? Any suggestion of a specific type?

I was just looking at the kit, and it says it comes with 10 feet of red 16 gauge wire (for the pump, which will be in trunk along with pump). It actually came with 10 ft of red wire that is only 20 gauge. Should replace this with 10' of 16 gauge to extend the pump wires, instead of the 20 gauge it came with? Last thing... where the hell should I ground all this stuff. I would like to run them all the the neg terminal on the battery, but I guess I'd have to buy some sort of t ring, and place it under the neg battery cable? or should I just use various grounds that are convenient? not sure where is 'good' and haven't wired a stereo in like 15+ years! lol
