Hi,
Previously I had 2009 M6 and the car opened when I touched one of the front door handle.
Now, I have a 2015 model and to open it I need to press a button on the door handle. Is this how it works in the newer model or is there a setting for it somewhere.
I think I went through all the settings and haven't found anything about that.
Thanks

I think it’s a fair question if you’re not used to the car. My Volvo worked in a similar way too as you describe. Shut the door and then press the button to lock. Then open the door without pressing anything.
I think though you’ll find the system is working as Mazda designed. Press button to lock (or walk away with keyless fob if you have this feature and it’s enabled) and press to unlock.
It’s not as intuitive as it could be in my opinion compared to others but it’s working the way it should! 👍

The button is there for a reason, why would you think its not working properly?
I haven't said it doesn't work properly just asking how does it work and what to expect.

In the 2009 model I didn't had to press the button to open the car I just had to grab the door handle and the car would open.
Closing yes, either the button or the fob.

In the 2015 I need to press the button to open it.
