So, I parked my car and locked it with the remote. A few hours later I come back and the thing wont unlock. Ok, i though maybe its a fluke and used my key instead. I opened up the remote, took out the battery and put it back in... still nothing.

Went out, bought a new battery, still nothing....

It doesnt make a noise at all, not even trying to lock or unlock the car, pressing the button simply doesnt do anything.

The remote was in my pocket, not droped, not damaged, not gotten wet.

What could be wrong?

Yeah the car is fine, the remote just doesnt work period. I reset the battery and tried to look for a fuse that might have something to do with it. Nothing after the battery and i couldnt find a fuse that looked like it was part of the keyless entry.

Maybe its the car reciever? If so any ideas of what to look for, or how to test?

BTW, can a mod move this to the electrical section? I think I posted in the wrong one. Thanks.

Nope, I never received two. Two keys, but 1 remote. I learned i should have gotten 2, so i might give my dealer a call.

So the car is going in on monday (most likely). Is there a fuse i could check to make sure its not something easy? I hate being without a car.

Mine did the same. It's the cheap generic remote. The transitter died in mine, I have to use my spare now. Mine did the same as yours... I changed batteries and everything. The remote just up and died. My spare works fine, for now...

So, if the dealer says "you NEED to buy a new one from us for $XXX" i should be able to find one elsewhere? Are they pretty standard?

This one looks identical, listed at $54?

EDIT: Even cheaper 29.95

UPDATE: Was the remote itself, though dealer will replace under warranty. I may still want to buy the second, and ebay has some good deals. As cheap as 2 for $25.
