Disappointing that catalyst breakdown has been known for so long on so many platforms, yet there was never a universal outcry. Manufacturers are totally gunshy about mass failures now thanks to Toyota. I mean, 700,000 fits recalled over a throttle spring or something trivial. Doesn't help us any.
As an aside, I'm glad there are people out there running the flag for the SVT Contours. I drove one new, and it sounded incredible for a front-driver in such pedestrian packaging. I didn't know 3.0L swaps were so common that you can ink a check, and a guy just drop-ships them. SVT Contours are dirt cheap...and Taurus blocks are common...hmm.
