I have a 2004 6 2.3 that has lost compression in one cylinder at 160,000 miles. I'm exploring using a used JDM long block to replace the engine. Does anyone have any experience with those? Any tips or warnings?

Why not just use a lower mileage Fusion engine? It seems like it would be a hell of a lot more expensive to have an engine shipped from Japan.

Actually, it seems to be cheaper, and the engines have lower mileage because of the ridiculously strict Japanese inspection laws.
