So I got a 2006 Mazda 6 2.3L 5 speed auto. Now I try to treat her good. Accelerate slowly, break slowly, go the speed limit and clean her regularly. Take her to maintenance on time as well.

Occasionally, I go cruising with my friends and sometimes, we do red light races and I do push the Mazda to up to 5,000 RPM's and the red starts at 6,500.

I'm just curious though - is racing on the Mazda bad with only stock parts? I haven't done any mods to it or anything ( hopefully in the future ).

You can at least hit the red line every now and then and that shouldn't be a problem.

you can race it fine. its just when you start ABUSING it that things go wrong. me personally, id be too scared of blowing up the crappy atx trans you have. lol
