I'm fixing up a 2003 Mazda6 3.0 I was given that had sat for a few years. The body is in good condition other than a mailbox crunch on both headlights crunching the hood corners. The engine runs well and has 167,000 miles.
Current plans are to finish replacing the headlight lenses...
I need to pull the 3.0 v6 from my Mazda for a rebuild. The hood, bumper, and radiator is already removed from other work.
What is the simplest way to remove the engine? Out the top or bottom? Is a hoist required or can blocks suffice?
Thanks for any input.

Hi, im just wondering what octane gas I should use. In the owners manual is says to use 87, but to my knowledge isn't 91 always better. 91 octane is supposed to be for, correct me if im wrong higher compression motors. So does the V6 mazda 6S motor need 91 or is it just a waste?
