Pre filters are useless in preventing hydrolock. All they do is introduce a restriction to the air intake system. The information on the prefilters even points out they are water resistant, not water proof...submerging the filter in water will still suck water into the engine. (And if you read the ultra fine print, it even mentions that the "guarenteed gains" are not guarenteed with the prefilter installed. (ie you lose horsepower and torque)

Actual splashed water on an oil based filter is fine...its called free water injection.

If you are worried about water or hydrolock, just stick to airbox mods.

Actually it does restrict air...thats why injen never dyno's with the filter on the intakes. Sure they talk about "blah blah dyno tested..." If that was the case, why they do they do the product dyno's with it off... It obviously makes some sort of difference, otherwise they'd be dyno'd with it on.

I mean think about it man, if you cover your face with a thin sock...its harder to breathe :).
