Installed Grom ipod adapter a few weekends ago and noticed recently (warmer weather :)) that I can only turn my hvac temp dial partially into cold/blue range - it stops at exactly 9:00. Thinking I screwed something up putting console and knobs back on. It is a newer (to me) car and I never had the oppoprtunity to try that in the first place so I guess it coulda been that way when I bought it. Any ideas on how to fix?

take the knobs bak off and chek to make sure the right screws are in the right spot not sure what hvac system you have but with the auto control it is its own unit that pops out of the back side, sounds like you have the other kind with the red/blue just try retracing your steps and see if something is not secure in th back or something was blocking it from the back

Reply post reminded me that when I removed the head unit I did remove the two brass screws that are behind the temp and direction knobs. I eventually realized that they didn't need to be removed and put them back in. Could that be my issue? Anyone have details? Thx.

I am having EXACTLY the same issue you describe. Only difference for me is the knob goes all the way to the end of the red/hot side, but when I turn it to blue/cold it stops at about one o'clock. However, when it IS turned all the way to red/hot, the heat is only barely on - as if the dial was at about...well, one o'clock.

Like yourself, at first I removed those two screws behind the heating/AC knobs, then realized I didn't need them off, so I put them back on and proceeded with the rest of the install.

Everything went fine with the install, although I did find it very, VERY difficult to get the head unit out. I wired everything up, put it all back together. I was at first very pleased with myself, but now I'm very bummed about the heat, and I'm REALLY not looking forward to pulling the wretched thing apart again.

Wondering if you got this resolved, or if anyone has any ideas? My "guess" is that there is some kind of MECHANICAL cable setup behind that temperature control dial that is part of it, and it has got twisted or jammed or otherwise bolloxed up.
