HAHAHA. Hadn't heard about that one. That's so funny. Glad I know my car wasn't on the Cougar Ace.

Humm... A "used" mazdaspeed6 2007 with less than 5 miles on it seems like a deal to me...

UNLESS the "used" price is same as new. only with used sticker... in which case... no one would ever buy them... so they will be marked down... My guess is ... with all the other discounts out now.. you might snag a new mazda with the 2.3 turbo for around 20-23,000... good cheap savings for a vehicle that "could" have minor defects ....

I dunno, that could be one of the selling points the Salesman uses. "This is one of the very rare 'Cougar Ace' editions!"

Very few salesmen know enough about the car to begin with, I doubt any of them would even know if they were "Cougar Ace" editions.

It best be more in the range of 17500 to 21500 for either the MS6(if there were any that made it to US or Canada market) and the CX-7.
A person I work with grabbed an 06 Sport with 2300 miles for 20450. I paid, NEW off the ship, 22340 for my 06 Sport. And the Pricing has Not increased for 07.

This As MAZDA has been paid AND wrote off against profits on every vehicle which gets the COUGAR badge. :D

I believe that the MSRP has gone up 1% from 06 to 07.

If there's no damage then the lucky people who buy it will get the deal of their lives.

I'm sure it'll add to the re-sale value.

I'm reviving this thread to see if the VINs in the OP have been added to the MS6db, since for whatever reason, I can't find the damn database.

None of them came up when I searched.

I guess they're all crushed now aren't they? It's sad they couldn't find something better to do with them. School automotive programs or something along those lines. Stupid liability :D

Geeze...so it is just ms6db.com. Silly me.

Anyway, somebody add them! The VINs in the OP were officially listed as total losses by Mazda when the Cougar Ace capsized. So, it is official; 5 MS6s lost at sea.

I would hate to be that poor bastard that special ordered one.

Here is a quote from Mazda regarding seemingly undamaged cars being smashed:

"This is less about the money than customer satisfaction.''

Who the fuck said this? I want to talk to them about my fucking POS leaky K04, bendy rods and junk VVT setup. I guess they pick and choose their customers.

Releasing those cars to the market would hurt the resale value of everyone who bought those cars previously. No one would want a cougar-ace Mazda over a non-cougar-ace Mazda. And again, selling them at a lower price point would not be resale-value friendly. Crushing the cars may not have been the most "media" friendly solution, but from a business standpoint it made sense.
