I am a soon to be new M6 owner. I am looking at 2 cars...an '08 MTX 2.3L GS with 60,000km and an'07 MTX V6 GT Sport with 90,000km. The GT is listed at 13,900 and the GS at 15,900. I know I can beat them both down some.

I'm torn, because Iwould love all the features/options that are on the GT...it is loaded but I also like the GS because of the better gas mileage and lower mileage on the car but I don't like the price.

Is there any reasons (other than the obvious differences) I should pick one over the other? This will be a DD for me, maybe 25000km a year driving.

Thanks

Alan

pick the one with less options and less miles. itll give u less problems in the long run and ull get a lil better gas mileage and u can still mod her up. welcome to the family.

+1 If you need Sat Nav, get a good Tom Tom or a Garmin for a few hundred
and you'll have it for every car you'll ever own! With the Middle East about to implode on itself, the better gas mileage is a strong argument also.

it depends on what ur going for i gues. i have a 06 gs with the v6. it was a no brainer for me to get the v6 as i like power. my wife has a 04 mz3 with the 2.3 and imho that is the only size veh that motor should go in. i would go for the v6 hands down. iirc there were some tranny issues with the v6's but that was the earlier models: 04 and 05 i think. under warranty i had a front manifold and tranny valve body replaced, fog light relay, sunroof adjusted. thats about all.

if you are planning on modding i believe that you will spend much more $ just trying to get the 2.3 up to the v6 specs than it would be worth, and whos to say that even if you get it to the same hp that you will have the same amount of tq.

either way, i love my car, very sexy body style no matter wat motor. imo 2nd gen is fail. welcome to the fam bro!!

you can find the 4cyl in a GT package with every option the v6 has pretty easily. the only option that the v6 had, that the 4 cyl didnt have was the dual stage climate control. my 6 for instance is a 2.3 mtx, but every last option, leather, heated seats, full GT kit, even the optional sport grill.

i was pretty dead set on getting a mtx v6 originally. but finding a fully loaded one in a lapis blue color was being a pain after months of searching. when i found my car, i was really thinking i was gonna hate it. but then i drove it. the 2.3 isnt bad at all when its mated to a MTX trans at least.

I have the 2.3 and it is plenty peppy enough for normal driving. I'm not taking it to the track so it suits me fine. The big plus is that I'm getting 32 mpg highway. Since I'm not independently wealthy, I will still be able to drive it when gas hits $6 and $8 per gallon. I know where I'm going so I didn't need the nav com and I think the only thing I'd add to the list of features is remote start. For me remote start is like going from dial-up to broadband internet...I can't go back. Plus I like letting the oil get up before taking off in the winter.
