So im forced to get new tires even though the ones on the car are in good shape......Car was originally sold in Hawaii and then wound up in ny through auction and dealer sale. My grip in this snow is shit and looking at the tires they dont seem to be all season at all. It was to dark and cold to get a good full reading but the basic is 215/50 17.


Im looking at a few tire companies
Not sure what the current realtime quality is on these companies tires:

TOYO -heard was decent but that was a while ago
NEXEN -Dont know much about
Hankook -see they are sold at pepboys and such................
Falkien -Last i heard was good
Kumho -had a set i loved but that was 3 years ago
Pirelli -last i heard was in top 3​

I want to go with 235/45 17 92-97load h-z speed​

Dont Know which models are the go to tires from each company. went to their sites but of course they toot their own horn at all their tires being the best.​

If you guys can hit me with your recent experiences with tires from these companies id appreciate it.​

Be careful with that size. Some tires in that size will rub. I'd stick with 225/45-17s or 225/50-17s.

As for tire ratings, check out DiscountTire.com or Tirerack.com. Tirerack tests the tires out on identical vehicles in identical conditions, so they have a ton of info as to which is best in their testing. I'd pay more attention to their testing than the consumer comments/ratings.

Most All Season Tires are 3 season tires. They get hard in the winter.

Or... keep the current wheel and tire, spend a little extra cash and get yourself another set of cheapie wheels with some proper snow tires on. When I bought my car, it had snow tires on, so I picked up a set of summer tires and I'm in the process of sourcing a second set of wheels. I used to have a lot of faith in a good all-season tire... but you compromise something in every season. Dedicated summer and winter tires don't compromise! I've got a set of Hankook Ventus V12's for the summer and I'm using the Bridgestone LM-60's that were on the car to begin with. By the way, the LM-60 is awesome!

Now I do understand that this isn't always a viable option for everyone... but I figured I'd throw the idea out there as food for thought.

Ok in the end i got
Falkien ZE 912 225/50 17 94V

paid 525 for everything including tires, tax, mount, balance, electronic alignment, stainless steel valve stems, 45day shop warrenty, 40000 mile wear warrenty. i get a free realignment at first tire rotation and lifetime free inspection on tires stems and etc.

I rotate my own tires but this time ill let them do it for the free realignment

I ran Bridgestone Blizzaks on my MDX winter beater last year and loved them. The Firestone Winterforce series is also supposed to handle pretty well in the snow.

I, too, agree with the above comments. Stick with a thinner tire for the winter - 215/50 or 225/45 are both excellent choices.
